Most fun to watch fish.

Okay, I'm looking for the most fun to watch fish. Personality, colors, pizazz, or whatever combo. So far the 2 most fun on my list are engineer gobies with their "you're tank will look how I want it to" and yellow tangs with their "I'm going to dart, even if it means I bang into the side of the tank" antics.
Give yours and why its so cool. (this is an aside while I contemplate stock list).
Also, if anyone here has an engineer, what have you done to prevent your rocks from going down? I've heard egg crate under the rocks, or rocks to the glass. Done both but still worried about getting one

I've never had one but a Longnose Hawkfish ..I was lookin at one at the pet store as it eye'd a fly on the glass, chasing it around in the tank

I have an engineer. I put egg crate down and used large base rocks. I put the base rocks down first and filled in the sand around it.
basically when he made his system he could only move sand and the rocks are as stable as if there were no sand at all.
mines about 14"

The engineer is the only fish I have besides a lionfish. Im looking to rehome the lion so I can get some reef fish.
When the lion gets a new home I'm getting a spotted jaw fish. very bright and they just stick thier heads out of thier holes and look around all the time.
when something floats by their hole they scurry out and get it and quickly retreat back to their hole again. pretty funny

I don't own this fish, but one of my favorite fish to watch is a banded cat shark. It Is funny! They have so much personality! They try to scurry into one spot, then they think "hey this spot isn't comfy! I'm Moving to another spot.". Then, they just keep moving around to find a spot. They also just like to chill out and people from the tank.
I also love the clownfish. Whenever I go near mine. He usually swims to the nearest spot where I am. Then, whenever I put the brine shrimp I feed hi in the water, he nibbles at my hand. It barely hurts at all, but it is funny.

can I pick two as well? My flame angel and watchman goby are always hilarious to watch together. The flame is always darting around in and out of the rock work and the ywg has one crevice picked out that he just got how he likes it. Anytime the flame comes near the ywg will flare up his gills and open his mouth in a "stay outta my hole" way. But sometimes the flame will just swim by and the goby darts off to a random spot.
By itself.. my flame angel is king of the tank. He always watches me when I'm around the tank, and goes to the top around the times I normally feed. (No forgetting that with him! LOL). Once I did forget.. next time I got the food out I got splashed by him -.- ... smart alleck fish. They are just beautiful fish in general too though, one of my favorite colorations. It was love at first sight

Currently, my Sohal Tang is the most interesting fish I have. He's just always so aware of what goes on outside the tank and the fearless mentality makes him really outgoing. I've never seen this fish hide, even when I put my hands in the tank. King of the tank!
I used to have a bi-color blenny in my reef tank that was pretty cool too. The way he watched people when they moved around the tank and he had this little cave in a rock and it always cracked me up how he backed into it. Perfect parking!

id have to say my maroon clown pair... the female head butts everyone away from her anemone except the kole tang,,, the kole tang sleeps with them near the anemone (???)
and then my niger trigger,, if my hand is in the tank he is rubbing up against it..like a dog in heat i swear!!(did i mention he is almost 6 inches long with his red teeth coming in)

Definetly the royal gramma. When anyone's near his cave, he opens up his mouth HUGE and like...yells at them. xD Theres a vid of one doing it on youtube, it's not mine but it's the same thing.
+1 On Jst though, I'm getting a Blue Spotted Jawfish too. Expensive, but totallot worth it IMO. There are two in my LFS's display tank and they decorate their burrows all day, probably trying to make their own personal one better than the other's. If you don't want to pay like $130 for it, there are regular white ones or yellow headded ones with the same kinds of personalities, just not as pretty.

Blennies: love the way they swim. Always have the "who me? Puppy face" and they play hide and seek in your rock work.

I love to watch my sixline... they're always weaving in between the rockwork then they stop, look around, pick at a few pods then drift around again. Awesome fish. I also love my clownfish pair, one orange occelaris and one black occelaris. =]

Yellow pygmy angelfish (my avatar) this fish doesnt understand he is about 4" and not 1" you always see him try to fit in small crevices and get stuck for about a minute until he gets himself out to only do it again

hes a lost cause but funny

I like them too, how do they do in a reef? They have this look on their face like they've been dipping into the California medication a bit too much very funny Also, would they be okay with a yellow tang (I know some fish think others are the same as them by color ie a royal gramma and bicolor pseudocrhomis cant be kept together).

Agree with the flamehawk. He is a great addition to my reef. I would not add one though if your shrimp are on the smaller side. He pesters my shrimp to the point that they hide most of the day, and only come out at night. My shrimp are easily 3 inches and he is only 1 1/2" . But, even with this he is definately my favorite fish. Darts in and out of the rockwork with ease, and likes to eye me when I am looking at the tank. Extremely personable.

Be careful with the Six Line Wrasse. A lot of people (myself included) have issues with them. They are a more aggressive wrasse, and you really should not keep one with a Mandarin Dragonet. My Six Line killed my Mandarin. It took me months to catch the wrasse, when I finally did, I gave it to my LFS. Within 10 days, the LFS had to separate the little wrasse because it was killing all the fish in numerous tanks they tried to keep it in. Cool looking fish, fun to watch, but a nightmare. Do a search on here, a lot of people call them the "fish from hell" (I know Florida Joe can't stand his).

There could be an issue as both are semi aggressive fish. I would choose one or the other, both would be a little too much yellow in the tank as well. Go with the angelfish, not the tang.
What size tank is this again?
