I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words on my light design. BTL saw the prototype of the new line of lights that i am working on. in the process of developing a fully intergrated controller for the lights. if anyone has any questions about it i would be more then happy to answer anything.
thanks again BTL

whats the price range gonna be? im about 8 months away from my next build and my total for my lights alone is estimating to be 3k already for a 50 x 30 x 20 SPS dominated tank

Camanuch,
You are so talented. I'd tell anyone to buy a light from you!!!!!
We will definitely be looking into another one after our move!
Thanks so much for an amazing light :)

Camanuch: I'll have to send you a pm about your controlers. Wondering if I'd be able to incorporate one into my future build and what functions they have.

Holy mother of God!!!
that light system is awesome!!!!
I bet it's going to cost you much less in electric bill too considering LEDs only take fraction of your old lights.
I also noticed that you have flame angel. Quick question, does your queen nip on your soft corals?
I'm contemplating on adding green star polyps on back side of my tank on one side and some zenias or clover polyps on the other.

I can't wait to see how much the bill goes down now that there is no chiller and no halides, plus we don't need the AC running 24/7.
The lights are amazing. I want all my tanks, including fish only tanks to have LEDs now!
I actually have a flame AND a Coral Beauty in this tank, neither nips at soft corals. I caught my flame nipping at my duncans once, but to date I'm not positive anther she killed them, or they were already dying and she finished them off. My green star polyps, clove polyps, palys, etc all are fine with both dwarf angels. It is always a risk with dwarfs, but I've found that well fed fish are less likely to nip, and I do feed heavy. I even have a Copperband Butterfly and a Filefish in here, neither of them nip either.
And go figure the two fish I've had nip corals were a Sailfin Tang and a Ocellaris Clownfish!

Nice, I'm going to try with small frags and glue them on the the back of my tank to see how they last.
BTW, have you glued any of your corals before?
Thanks BTLDreef!

yeah definately do... are you building the the fixture from scratch or are you buying one then incorporating it? if you are building it is very easy to incorporate.

no center brace. 3/4" glass with possible eurobracing
i would recommend one of 300w systems. im not releasing any prices as of yet since im not sure as to what they are going to cost me to build. i will definately let BTL know as soon as i do figure it out.

I glue frags all the time. I actually plan on gluing my GSP to the back of my new tank once it's set up.
Very nice!
That's exactly what I want to do. But I have never done this before and tell you the truth that I was scared that glue will mess up the tank or glue won't hold if I tried to attach it in the tank while the water is in there etc etc.... any tips and advices?

i glue all my frags directly to the rocks. clean the rock place with your finger. then add a little glue to your finger and smear it on that spot. now here is the trick, make sure the frag bottom is cut flat. thats verry important. then add some glue to the frag bottom. place frag on the glue spot on the rock and hold for 1min. thats it.

so putting the glue in the water while it's wet is fine and won't hurt the fish or coral right? adhesiveness won't be affected as well ?

Not at all. Just don't use the gel based crazy glue. I use this stuff: https://www.saltwaterfish.com/Two-Little-Fishies-CorAffix-2-oz-Cyanoacrylate-Adhesive_p_3244.html
I think it's the same as crazy glue, but I like that's it's a bigger bottle which makes it a little less cumbersome to use.
