Motorcycle mania

I was flipping channels and I saw a show called motorcycle mania on discovery so I started watching it. Well there was a guy on there named Jesse James and he built bikes, well in his shop there was what looked to be about a 240 or so with 2-3 blacktips in it. What really shocked me is that he walked over to it and dumped in about 15 goldfish. I just thought I would share that with you guys.

I've seen that show before. The footage is a few years old. Those sharks look huge in that tank, don't they?

Okay, I'll bite. How does anyone know what size the tank really is unless you called them and asked? What exactly is a "non-fish guy"? If someone has that size of a tank and livestock in them, doesn't that make them a "fish guy" by default? And by that same thought is that really enough to "hate" someone?
Last question, how does anyone know who's really taking care of the tank...for all anyone here knows, he could hire the best tank care in LA?
This is the same as saying that restaurant owners, doctors offices, commercial building landlords should be hated because although they have a display tanks in their building, they are "non-fish guys" because they don't personally service the tanks...Yet I would bet that in his shop he probably doesn't have to worry about nameless morons walking up and rapping on the glass to get the fishes attention, in turn stressing the fish beyond belief. Actually, as I understand, Jesse James IS a fish guy, the aggressive species, at least.
I think his tank is too small for those sharks, there's little doubt about that. However, given who he is, he's likely to be able to place his fish at an aquarium, or upgrade his tank (if he hasn't already done it) when his sharks get too big. Remember, that doc was shot some time ago. (I guess you have to follow Bike Week and Monster Garage on Discovery to know that.)
I also think the goldfish incident was done for the benefit of his kid who was watching and the documentary crew, and to watch the fish hunt and feed. I do it with my eels from time to time (I don't use goldfish, but damsels and mollies) just for fun.

I agree with you on that. I don't know that he is a fish guy but that was shot at least close to two years ago and he does ahve the funds to get a bigger tank. I also figure he pays someone to take care of the tank for him, so we shold be mad at them not Jesse. And I think the goldfish were for the benefit of his kid. No matter what we know about the hobby, we can't make everything right. Hell, I see things wrong with aquariums I visit, but you have to remember, the ideal setup isn't always what people pay money to see.

Non-fish guys are people who dont know a single thing about fish and will just do anything to them.

I agree with you guys, I don’t hate the guy for it, I was just pointing out what I saw. I do think that the goldfish thing was pretty stupid on his part because it only takes 1 goldfish to introduce pathogens into your tank even if it is for the benefit of the kids watching you.

Hmmmm are you sure it was a 240? I saw a show last week on the discovery channel about some guy's that were fixing up motercycles and they had a black tip tank as well. But there tank looked big enough for the black tips, it had to be 1000g+. I dont think its the same show though. As I recall the guy I'm talking about threw a big peice of fish in the tank for them.
But if the tank you're talking about was really a 240, then that guy needs to upgrade like NOW. A 240 is to small for even newborn blacktips.

I don't know for sure, but I read somewhere the tank is actually a 3 or 400 something. Still to small for those fish. IMO
