Make sure you have somewhere for the heat to go. Via a fan in the top or something like that.

Thanks Skilos, I totaly forgot that white reflects, I am gonna do it your way because then I don't have to buy reflectors. Any sugestions on brand?

You still should use reflectors for 2 reasons: 1) a reflector acts a heat sink, the mh directs heat at 1 point, the entire length of the bulb and residual heat on both sides, the reflector spreads the heat over a increased area. 2) the reflector reflects light on the top and sides of the mh and directs the light downard depending on the curves and angle of the reflector metal. The white paint helps reflect "wasted light" back at the reflector or at the water, essentualy containing the light.
