Mounting Metal Halides

I just got a new 250 watt medal halide set up, I am mouting it over my 75 gal tank. How high should I mount it from the water surface?

I have mine mounted 10 inches above the water.

I think most manufacturers recommend 12", but I've done 10" as well.....Are you using SE or DE bulbs?

I have SE in a lumanar III reflector.
