Stupid me. I added a foxface to help clear a few tufts of bryopsis that ahve appeared. I thought is was too large for the purple angler to bother with. I was wrong. Expensive meal and a leason learned.

Now I am a bit worried abotu the frogfish, but he has finished swallowing it and seems to be doing OK.
STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
And feel free to add some more STUPIDS.

I'm surprised the poisonous spikes didn't affect the angler.

I am concerned about that myself, but it seems to be doing OK and you would think it would have tryed to spit it out if anything was happening. Been a couple hours and the angler is respiring as always and seems pretty pleased with itself.

I imagine it would really only matter if the Angler was actually stung by one of the barbs. The venom (note, not posion) has an affect on the nervous system, usually delivered through the bloodstream. Being contained to the Anglers digistive tract, should keep him safe.

Mike, your not the first and you won't be the last my friend.....
I "aquired" a dwarf fuzzy lion from Shogun 323 a while back. That fish was cool as all get out and never bothered anything. I bought 2 yellow coris wrasses to eat some pyramillid (sp) snails and they lasted about 2-3 hours.
I don't have a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish anymore.....Sorry Wade, he went to a good home though.

Oh man, that poor foxface must have died of a heart attack when he saw that fish and its mouth!

It is an awesome picture though. You should enter it into some photography contests.e

oh man, what a picture. sorry. well I would say its safe to assume your frog fish likes gourmet dinning. only a real gourmand would pay $30 for such a small fillet.

I was just thinking about getting one of those anglers, but after seeing this I will have to get another tank so when I do get one it will be in there by it self. I am sorry you lost your foxface that must suck.

Amazing picture. Sorry about your Foxface. I had a scare last week of a similar kind. I had not fed my SFE ina several days and he went after my foxface.
I threw in some shrimp real quick like. I made for some tense moments. Good luck.
