Move time...is this the right plan?

Move a 55 Gallo reef setup about 30 miles.
40lbs of live rock...put into a tub with lid closed. Now water or just wet newspaper? I hear both sides on this issue. Right now I am going with wet newspaper?
Crushed Coral....most have told me to ditch it from the start? How much live sand do I need and then won't that trigger a cycle? Should I just put the crushed coral in for now?
Fish...do I put them all into one large tub with lids or each in a 5 gallon bucket with lids from home depot. The bucket seems easier for me to move up to my apartment. Do I need air pumps for these?
Tank...might scrape it at that point just to clean it.
Stand...just move
I have it all figured out, just the sand issue is all I am concerned about. The rock has no corals and the filter is a canister, so that is pretty easy.

Get a few 5 gallon buckets. Put a trash bag in each bucket, the small kitchen bags should fit. Then place rock into bag in bucket and fill with water. Tie the bag shut so water doesnt splash around. Do the same with the fish except in a different bucket. I would start off new using sand. Keep the crushed coral though since it is already seeded. When you set up the new tank, place some of the crushed coral into small filter bags or old pantyhose, just cut the bottoms off. Then place a few of the bags around the tanks and in a few weeks your sand will be seeded from your crushed coral. At that point, you can take the bags of crushed coral out and throw away.

go to a LFS and get bags for the fish will make it alot easier and wont stress them out being together in a small space. Also once you get the move to where you are going i would not use the CC at all since once you stir it up you will have all the crap in the cc all stired up and will start a cycle. IMO i would get 2 bags of the agarinite sand with the water in there and use that. Once that is in there i would get some more araginite sand and place it in there with the live sand. I did my move and it was 3 1/2 hours and doing that made life alot easier. Plus if the tank isnt your and u are buying it you dont know what someone used in the tank. You might find the cc in there now stinks and with all the stuff in there you will have a cycle. BUt take tubes and place all the water in there once you get there and take one bucket and shake the LR off in there to try and get some junk off of it. And then place it in a tub with the water in it. Also do not mess with the CC until its at the very last amount of water. Also at your house have about 25 gallons of fresh RO water so once you are home you can mix some of your water with the old. Thats the best way to do it i have found.
