Hey everyone, hope I am posting this in the right forum.
I'm looking to relocate everything from my current DT into a new, better, bigger system that I have set up downstairs in the basement, and I am looking for some tips. I want to give you the low down on my tanks current status and where everything will be going.
Currently I have a 110G Mixed Reef DT with the following inhabitants and Equipment;
180lbs of LR
1" crushed coral substrate
3 Koralia Powerheads
Jebo 180 Skimmer
20G Sump
2x250 M/H
4 x 65W Actinic Blue T5 HO Lamps
Yellow Tang
Powder Brown
Regal
2 Tomato Clowns
2 Ocellaris
1 Bengaii Cardinal
3 Chromis
Foxface
Cleaner Wrasse
Royal Gramma
2 Bubble Tip Anemone
Acros
Zoos
Palys
Mushrooms
Leathers
2 Cleaner Shrimp
2 Peppermint Shrimp
Coral Banded Reeef Shrimp
Sand Sifting Star
Serpeant Star
I know that my current skimmer is small and I have too many fish in there and will be getting rid of the tomatos and the foxface when I move the aquarium.
I will be moving everyone into a 125G Long Tank with all my current LR, a
100G Sump that will have 100lbs of LR and a ASM G5 Skimmer as well as a seperate 30G Fuge just for Algae.
Heres where it gets tricky my Regal Tang has Ich (and has had it for sometime now and can't seem to shake it even though I supplement with Zoe and Garlic Everyday and have a cleaner wrasse and a cleaner shrimp, the ich doen't seem to bother him and he eats like a pig and looks healthy otherwise) also I just found out yesterday that my Yellow Tang now has Black Ich and my Powder Brown has Ich as well.
So what I am looking to do is move any of the sick fish into Quarantine Tanks that I have (I have 6 that I can use but they are currently dry)and treat them. Should I also QT my healthy looking fish since they were in the same sytem? Will my water in my DT be contaminated with Ich now? Do I need to somehow change all the water now when I move everything? Should I dip all my Coral, fish and rock before moving into the new DT (I have bristle worms and maybe flat worms(since my Yellow Tang has black Ich)and can I use the water form my current DT for the new tank and or the QT's?
I know this is a lot of questions but I reall want to do this properly and get my DT back to a very healthy state free of hitch hickers and parasite.
Thanks in advance everyone!!
