Moving far away - HELP

I have a 42g hex - everything is going great . . . I love the hobby and all that goes along with it . . . but . . . my husband is getting out of the military and we are moving back home (1500 miles) professional movers will move my aquarium - I plan on giving my fish away. I want to keep the live rock and sand (cuz its so darn expensive) how long can I keep it stagnant? It would take about 6 weeks to get my aquarium back and setup. Can I keep the lr/ls like that? Do I have to re-cure it or would it be gone? Any help would be appreciated.

lol, 6 weeks is good when you are talking about the Air Force. Took 8 weeks to get our stuff when we were moved up here . . .
And - I don't know how to ship my fish . . . or I would send them to you warlockgp. I was going to give them to my neighbors who introduced me to the hobby.

I'm a mover by the way, well more of a packer. I just did a military job in CA today, Be sure to tip your packers, we like it a lot and get fish with the extra cash. What' company is moving you???

Not sure who is going to do the moving - my hubby is being medically discharged they will tell us in 2-3 weeks a date and give us notice to move and get out of housing.
Last move I had cokes and treats for the movers - so, you suggest a tip? How much? And can I give it to them BEFORE they start so they will be nice to my stuff? I don't know the ettiquette on this stuff.
I don't even know what a crying smiley is . . .

Do a partial DIY move...I used to do them all the time while in...and then move the tank yourselves...

Hey a tip is not necessary, i was just kidding. We LOVE tips, but that's aside from what we are doing. Coke and snacks are great, i'm happy with water. And if they r like my brother in law (My boss) and I, great work won't depend on the tip amount. We get paid for it anyways...............
