moving live rock

I would like to move the live rock in my aquarium. Does this cause a problem stirring up the sand or moving the rocks around the fish have claimed as their own? Any opinions?

Agree with Tizzo.
Can't you just rearrange the top rocks and leave the base rock alone so that you don't stir up the tank?

I recently just did this. I made sure I had a plan on what rocks were moving where and then turned off the power head and went to work so sand wasn't blowing everywhere. It did stir up the sand but I did a bigger waterchange afterwards to keep from causing problems. My nitrates did go up after but i did another waterchange and all is well. but in a big tank turning powerheads off for a long time might not be a good idea.

The biggest issue imo is that this puts your rock on top of your sand. Ideally, the rock should go in first, then place the sand around the rock. This helps keep your rockwork from shifting around.
