I scrape all of the algea off of my back wall. It has never caused my tank to recyele. I have also rearranged my rock many times, and added some more sand. If you want to clean, and move stuff around in the tank, that should not cause it to recycle. I have never put the fish in bags to move lr. I just move it very carfully. I am not sure about the bag thing. Someone else will have to answer that. If it were me I would leave the fish in the tank, and move the rocks carfully.

see i had to move all of it to get a sick fish out and its all messed up rock leaning on everywall its not stacked the fish took to all of it though. but the way its stacked makes algae grow on every wall cause lr is touching it and then i put 20lbs of ls but the rest of the sand i got a home depot and i didnt get southdown but i dont think its silicate its been in there a while and doesnt seem to hurt anything just was goin to take it all out
