I will soon be making a move from SC to PA (about 9 hours). I must relocate 100 lbs of sand; 120 lbs of LR; numerous crabs, snails, and shrimp; and one yellow tang, one hippo blue tang, one cleaner wrasse, and one maroon clown! Any and all hints, tips, and suggestions are welcome!! Thanks! SangySC

you could check with local LFS,s ask them if they have pure oxygen they might be able to fill the bags with it after you placed your livestock in them. the rocks and sand a rubbermaid container is best but it will be heavy just keep water in with the rocks and sand to keep the life..
when you setup the tank again you may have to recycle your tank.
what I would do in this case is start over when you get to the distanation. sell the live stock back to the LFS and take the rock and sand with you once there setup the tank and wait on the recycle after that you can erstock without risking the livestock to something that may or maynot be detramential to them..
there is 2 options I hope everything goes well for you.. and let me ( us) know what happens.I might be doing this when spring comes from AR to TX about 12 hours away..

i drove from mahattan to chicago in two days in my honda civic. my fish and coral were double bagged individually with double the water and pure oxygen from a tank at the store. all of the bags were put together in a styrofoam cooler.
all my rocks were wrapped with paper towel while wet and placed in another cooler. i stopped somewhere midway at a friends for the night (brought everything inside for the night) and drove in the next day and set everything up right away. which was hard. i crashed out and everything made it.

Temperature, Temperature, Temperature! Don't let it drop more than 10 degrees. When I bought my tank, which was set up for a couple of years, I had to move it only 3 miles. Used 32 Gal. trash cans to move the water in 2 trucks. Kept about 150 Gallons. We were pouring the water out of buckets into the trash cans. The temp. outside was about 35 Deg. Took 4 hrs to set the tank back up. Had 3 200 Watt heaters in the water trying to heat it back up and put pots of boiling water in the tank. Didn't help. Lost a 9 inch Clown Trigger, 6 inch Pink Tail, and a 6 inch Stars and stripes. The only fish to make it were the 10 Damsels. The temp. dropped to low 60's plus the stress of the move.
Good thing I got a screaming deal on the tank, helped to offset the pain of the loss.
Good luck.
