check your perimeters before adding all your fish discard the water from the corals the same as you would if you had just purchased them as they will be sitting in there own waste /toxins what ever you want to call them for 8 hrs..keep as much water as you can but consider this as a water change at the same time as setting it back up you'll most likely get 25% new water which will be a good thing considering the substrate will be disturbed..minor detail be sure you can easily find all of your testing equipment before you put the livestock back in the tank... i stress this highly for good reasons
after my move 2 yrs ago i could not find my refractometer to check salinity.so i rushed out and purchased a hydrometer .. i had Ro water all ready set up but had to add the salt when i tested the water prior to adding it to my tanks it read what i thought to believe what was 1.024 which was what i wanted .
added the water to my tank after it was well mixed (power head in 50 gal drums for 2 hrs)got all my fish back in the tank all was well .. woke the next day everything in my tanks were dead
except my eels(4 morays).. i checked the water again to see what happened all parimeters were still in check no spikes even with all that death no spikes.. i later found my refractometer and checked sg what i thought was 1.024 turned out to be 1.09 my hydrometer was .way off... i wiped out $20.000. worth of fish in brackish water..
yes i called the company that manufactured this hydrometer they offered me a free bucket of salt for my troubles
