Whats Up With Mudd Filters Is This Better Than A Wet Dry.i Herad They Are Almost Maintanance Free And Really Make Tank Water Great.is It Worth Switching(lfs Is Trying To Talk Me Into One )

its not better just different. I run a skimmer, wet/dry and a refugium. A mud filter is a refugium with a mud substrait and culpra. where as me and most people use sand and chato due to more stability and ease. I do recamend a fuge to any one with a tank over 20g, it just helps things stay stable

would recomend a hang refugem or do they go under tank like my wetdry.if i use refugem do i keep all existing equipment(needle wheel protien skimmer,fluval402and a 125 g wet dry)

yes you keep all other equipment you just run the before the fuge

by sand you mean live sand,my tank is 150 gallons how do i no what size refugem to by ,and do them come with the light.are u familiar with pro clear aquaticsit looks just like my wet dry but it says it can be used withsand

yes I have a cupple pro clear wet/drys. but I recamend building your own fuge its cheaper and you can custimixe it to fit your needs. I love pro clear but am not crazy about there fuge design. all you need to build a fuge is a small tank, some glass baffles, live sand, a pump, ann some chato

I use miracle mudd in my refuge. I put the Mudd in and put about a inch or so of sand on top of it. I also put about 10-15# of lr rubble in there too. I also grow about 5 types of macro algae in it. I run my system skimmer free, but I also only have 1 target goby in my 75. The rest is various types of coral.
It would not be a bad thing to add, but I do not know if it would be efficient for a stand alone filtration.
