mudfilter (HELP)

I have had my tank for about one year, my sump started to leak, so i purchased a ecosystem60 mudfilter. I was told-- all you have to do is put the filter on the tank and it will keep on cycling in your tank. so I did and when I woke up the next morning all my fish were dead. I waited for about a week, and bought two fish. They were doing great , so I puchased one more< now my lemon peel is laying in the tank dying. it looks like it is himeraging to its skin. So I need some advice on mud filters, and how they are supposed to be working in my tank and will my tank get better.

I don't know much about the mud filter but my LFS has one. Do you have caulerpa in your mud? Do you have lights on in your mud tank 24/7?

When I bought my ecosystem, I let the mus sit for 5 days before I turned on the pump to my tank. I had one fragile coral that died, but everything else survivred. The key is to let it sit until the tank is clear. I also added some carbon for about a week to remove any toxins that might have been in it. The key is to let it sit.

You are supposed to be able to add that system to an existing tank and it will work well however, this is not the first time I have heard this. Have you checked your water parameters to see what all levels are? That would be my first step after a water change.
