Murdering Bubble tip

Last night I saw my BTA grab and try to consume my Clarkii. My BTA is well fed and has hosted this clown for more then 6 months. The Clarkii was doing his thing and the BTA rolled up around him and pulled him under the rock that he is attached to. The BTA had him all the way to his tail, the clown was fighting the whole way so I know this was not a friendly hugging session...What would have caused the BTA to do this. I know they can eat the fish. Why all of a sudden tho...I did rescue the Clarkii and hes doing fine this morning. He is however, a little shy of the BTA now.
any sugestions or reason as to why this could have happened.

wow a fish killer never heard of that before, we use to have a skunk clown and it was a female she use to kill the bta's i think she killed like 2or3 before we new what was going on. she would get realy rough with them, she would bore down really hard on them good luck with the bta.

BTAs will eat fish but usually not their host . Hard to say exactly what happened . Glad you rescued the Clarkii in time .
