Mushroom Coral Distending Gut (photos)

I've had a few really large hairy mushrooms (7+ inches diameter) in my tank for the past 3 years and they've always been fun to watch. Last night I had the pleasure of witnessing one evacuate its gut after feeding the previous night.
I'm not sure of the specific genus/species (suggestions welcome). Enjoy.

i always thoght that ment they were dying

The big ones in my tank do it about 1-2 days after eating and promptly suck them back in after releasing that brown, mucusy discharge.

My scolymia threw up its guts like that the other night, i think thats how some coral digest nearby coral? I saw it on the national geographic videos of blue planet.

My mushrooms do that and I have seen my Elephant Ear Coral do it too, very scary to see happening, I thought for sure it meant death the first time!

Awww, man, I hate that look. Mostly because I had a nice rock covered in shrooms before I went and got married in Hawaii, gone for 10 days, and when I got back, my buddy had fairly well killed everything in the tank. That's the last look they had before they all shriveled up and died..

Needless to say, he doesn't get near the tank any more!

i don't have pics of it, but my fizzy shrooms does this all the time when i p*ss it off or stress it out. Looks like little worms pouring out of its mouth.
After a while it should suck them back in. Are you params good? If so something or someone p*ssed it off.

This seems to be typical behavior of large shrooms in my tank (7+ inches diameter) after injesting a meal. No fatalities in 3+ year so I assume it is nothing to be worried about.

Hey Bronco. I really don't visit SWF much at all anymore :( I have 40 hours of classes and 40 hours of week now, its ridiculous.
I dunno why my shrooms throw up like they do periodically. I guess it would help if I knew what kind they were. Nobody has been able to positively identify in 3+ years.
These shrooms are like Hercules. When I moved to a new apt I had them in a tank with NO circulation for days. One even had a massive live rock ontop of it. They just laid there with their guts hanging out but as soon as I got the water moving again they sucked them up and went back to normal.
ps- to give you an idea of the size of the shrooms, thats a mexican turbo on the glass.
