So i got a hairy mushroom about 4 months ago and it was doing great, but in the last 2-3 weeks it seems to be getting smaller and smaller by the day. Its appears that the edges are melting.
Any ideas what causes this?? Nothing else in my tank seems to be having any problems (i have other SPS, LPS, and softies (including other mushrooms))
Also, i have some zoo's (colony of about 9) that rarely open. every once and i while one or two will open slightly. my other zoo's do fine. Should they be in lower light areas with high flow?

How's your water quality? What size tank? What kind of lighting?
Mushrooms are probably the hardiest coral available but I'm fairly certain your mushroom is dying.

Yes,
Also are you ensuring your trace elements are high enough? Most things die when they are starving.
Feeding?
Helpful info
Water parameters
type of lighting (and strength)
what are your supplimental feedings?
I had a pipe organ that refused to open properly and eventually it died.

i have a 55g w/ TEK T-5 lighting (6-bulb). I recently changed my bulbs and now that i think about it the change happened about the same time.
My SG is at 1.027
Nitrates = 0
nitrite = 0
phosphates = 0
calcium = 370
alk = 8
I feed cyclopsyse about every 3 days
the wierd part is my SPS are doing GREAT! how can the "easy" corals be dying.
