Mushrooms and Clams fight?

Hey everyone! It's been a while.
So, I have a 5" teardrop Maxima on the sand. I'd like to move him up to the rocks but I'm having a hard time finding a spot. There is one perfect place for him on a table but it's covered with mushroom corals. Do you think I can put the clam on there or would the mushrooms overcrowd or hurt the clam? They are maroon Actinodiscus mushrooms if that makes a difference.

Yes and no. If they stay away from the clam it will be fine. That is usually not the case though. The mushrooms will eventually start to grow up the side of the clam and right under it's mantle. If that occurs, the mantle will start to turn white around those areas because the clam is stressed. If the clam is HUGE, then it might survive it in the long run - I just wouldn't chance it, myself.
