Hey neowind,
I also have purple shrooms and they multipy like crazy. I swear ever day I see a new one. I alo use kent marine iodine as instructed in the directions. Alot of people don't reccomend using this because it is very easy to overdose and you could wipe your whole tank. But so far It has worked wonders for me. Last night I also fragged them and some green Tonga ones for my first time. So I am waiting with lil patience to see the results.

The blue one next to the shrimp I fragged from the rock with lots of them on it. It has not multiplied, but I am still waiting.
One of the guys at our LFS gave me for free a couple of shrooms that would not stay on their rock or attach. I stuck them in a couple of rock holes, and they immediately attached. The green stripe has given off 2 babies, on of which is featured in my pic above. The plain green one hasn't done anything, and another blue one has had 1 baby.
I have them low in the tank in an area of medium flow. I have PCs so my light is not that intense even at the top. I did have my rock with lots of blue shrooms in a cave, so they would not get too much light, but they started stretching to get more, so I moved them out, and now they are better.
Maybe you could try putting yours in less light, further from the lamps. I think they would do better and look nicer.
My LFS had the most beautiful shrooms in their "not for sale" tank, but with the MH lighting, they now don't look so good.
They were purple with aqua stripes! Now they look washed out...
