Thought it would be fitting to put my 1,000th post in the newbie section as I have asked a lot, been helped a lot and learned a lot. Thank you to all who have spent time with a newbie. I used to marvel at people with hundreds of posts and thought "get a life" or quit goofing off at work. HA! PICS of first week and today.

Awesome shots. Thats quite a transition ya got going on.
Is that a tongue along the bottom or a group of Rics in the current pic?
I wish I had some before pics of when I started. I didnt have a digital cam back then but some of the first tanks were embarrassing by todays standards.

It is a tongue and I need to whack it in half but just haven't done it. It has doubled in size in 6 months. I wish it was RICs! It once it got stung by the tube anenome and it blew up like a grape fruit. I should of taken a PIC. Is is very hearty though, I went on vacation and my tank watcher saw a rock on it the first day I was gone but thought it was natural. I got home and in had a 2 inch round bald spot and looked like necrosis. Two weeks later it was perfect.

Very nice now for sure. That was actually going to be my question; to see if the tangs were still alive.

Starting my first tank in about a month and just joined this site today. For someone new to the hobby thats an awesome tank in both shots. Thanks and maybe you can take a look at my post and give this newbie some feedback!!
In the first tank ... there is no live rock... correct? What filtration system did you start with? Having a problem deciding between LR and wet/dry.
thanks!!
