I started this tank back in June. Water used to start the tank came from my established 45 gallon reef.
10 Gal tank (Walmart)..................................................$10

20" 96W of pc Coralife/Aqualight fixture 50/50 bulb............$84
Filtration....and movement
Penguin 200b power filter..............................................$20
Nano Aqua C Remora skimmer.........................................$100
Maxi-jet 400....................................................existing tank
50W stealth heater......placed inside the remora...........$13
My goal was to spend less then $200 without counting the livestock :thinking: I just recieved the remora today but I couldn't pass up the deal.

I purchased the LS from bigalsonline dot com , they price matched premium aquatics. I purchased from them the live sand, lightinf fixture, powerfilter and coralife thermometer.

how do you like those lights i was thinking about getting them are they worth it and you only payed 84 how do you go about matching prices

I'll be trying out a clam soon. I've been hearing people having some success in keeping some clams alive (deresa). If it don't work it'll go in my 45 that is under MH's.

I haven't had a chance to purchase a deresa clam but was thinking of upgrading my lights to T5's. The Nova fixture but I'm still undecided. Anyways here is an update on the tank. I lost my neon eviota goby a month or so back. Don't know for sure but it's been missing. I have added a BLUE TANG
, that's to the tang police
(OK I couldn't help it).
Tang is only the size of a nickel and will be moved to my 45 once it gets a little larger. I'm purchasing a house in the spring and I will be going much larger then but for now.....Here is an update on my beautiful onyx clowns ***) .

I have a 1.5 inch blue tang in my 20 too...lol i work at a pet store and we get the babies in all the time....very cool.

umm.
to tell you the truth, IMO, even at that size, any tang needs a bigger tank than 10 gallons...
i do love your RBTA though
