why do you say the tank is doomed??? there have been many successful systems with absolutely no mechanical filtration... yes there are some bigtime eaters (and messy at that) but if he keeps on top of it he should be fine... and other than those fake lookin plants in the tank it looks as though its runnin fine...
how established is the tank??? what were your last test readings???

i didnt see twosharks.. in his post he had said here are some shots of my "sharks" not my shark.. so i thought he might have had two in there...
and the only reason is aid it was doomed is because i have never saw ANY tank(and ic ould be wrong) housing such big eaters without a problem with no skimmer.
i said it was doomed originally because he said he is ONLY runnign a fluval.. i agree you can get away with certain filtraton but no skimmer in a tank like this with his tankmates and what he wants to add.. i will stick by my assumption that he is doomed( if he doesnt get a good skimmer)...sharks, lionfish, eels groupers etc. etc eat ALOT if your feeding properly so if they are eating all that its all coming 0ut the other end wich you need an awesome skimmer to clean up.. that was my only point

ok the tank is running on a fuval 404 and a seaclone 150 skimmer also a 18watt uv .the tank is clean and i might add a tang because all my fish are lazy ,lol the eel is always hidding .

I can already see this post geting ugly. The 404 first off will do little for that bio load. The skimmer will do the same. And as I read this more I can only guess the skimmer has an in tank pump?? Not sure, but as you change out the system be sure to run the new tank with a sump with external pumps. Sharks have a very strong electronic field sensor, and can even bick up when a fish is near it. The electronic output from an in tank pump is going to cause a similar reaction as copper in many sharks.
Further I would set up a qt tank for any tank. The shark is a very good one but still new fish can pass on stuff to him, and sharks are hard to treat. Spend your money on another filter for right now. You have been a member long enough to read all of the post on sharks. so read my past post and take a look.

i have a wet and dry which is being fixed as we speak i,am going to have it with in days. and i will still use the 404 also i will add the tang after i have hooked up the new filter . thanks for the heads up

sharkbait question i have had eel before you name it i had it but the fimby i have is weird when i got him from the pet store he was out and really active . now in my tank it hardly comes out only to eat, i know the trigger would try to bother him but he is 3 times the size of my trigger . but of all the eels i have had this one is the most shy of all . the last fimby i had was mean as hell and would always come out ?

Yellow Tang Could you please re-read your post. They are very hard for me to read. Thanks. And I take it the last question you had was not ment for me. Have you given any thought as to how long you are going to keep this tank at it's current set up?
And the eel may just need some time to get used to the tank. But watch out with him.

This post is in regards to Shark Bait. I saw in one of your other post that you had posted a picture of a leopard shark. I was just wondering if that was your fish. If so, what would it take for you to sell it to me.
