Camel shrimp might eat zoos and some soft coral. Coral banded are ok, as are peppermint and sexy shrimp, anemone shrimp are cool also.

PH between 8 and 8.5
kh was about 8dkh
phosphate 0
nitrate about 10
nitrite 0
Calcium almost 560
ammonia 0
temp 78
specific gravity a tad under 1.026
the kh and calcium seem like they are starting to close in. they go hand in hand don't they? or is it just coincidence that one is going up and the other is going down.
i ended up getting a cleaner shrimp since nobody came up with any bad stories about them. and i got a red open brain coral.
i busted up one of the rocks to some smaller peices and re arranged again. but as of right now i like it and have an idea of where the next things i get will go. i just would like to know if there is anything i can do if what i get comes on a peice of rock that is bigger than i would have liked.
i will get some pictures up this weekend

Kh and Calcium do go hand it hand to an extent. You can always break up rock that corals come on if you are careful not to damage the corals. If you have a skill saw or something you might be able to trim up rocks? Lets see the new pics.

I like it, is the rock you got your zoos on one piece? If so nice grab I like the way the greens stick out like that! I just got a bunch of new zoos also. Fire/ice, watermelon, green eye. I like the hidden PH also, good idea. I need to figure something like that out for mine, I am SICK AND TIRED of having a big a** PH right in front of my display!

anybody have any links to changing my middle chamber into a fuge? is this a good idea? i just put some caulerpa in my tank and people are saying it's not a good idea. if it doesn't seem to work out i think i am going to make a fuge.
so yeah i got some caulerpa and some shrooms and about to take a trip to the fish store now. i'll take some pics and post them when i get it set up and the lights are back on tomorrow

Really all that you have to do is empty the chamber and clean it (with no solvents). On the part that has the black aesthetic covering take a razer blade and carefully cut and scrape it off in the shape of the middle chamber. This will reveal the glass and give you a window into the chamber. Then just find yourself a little pc light or something and put it right up there and grow you some chaeto!
Or you can get a submersible 10W quartz halogen light
Here is the light

And here is how you could install it

thanks for the info peef. it seems like i'm starting to have too much cords and stuff going into my nano. it's hard to believe i coud fit much more.
here is a pic with my new additions. i got the frog spawn and some star polyps last night but the stars haven't come out yet.

the caulerpa in the corner will get thinned out when the roots that are touching the sand get their roots in.

Yeah I understand about the cords. I have 4 cords in mine! I would recommend the exterior light, works wonders and since its in the back of the tank you can't even see it!

well i haven't been posting online about anything for a while just because i've been so busy and i haven't bought new things for my tank.
but my shrooms did melt away one quickly one short after and the other stuck around for a few weeks.
i did just buy a crocea clam, but then i quickly found out that my hermits wanted to snack on him and he only lasted about a day and a half.
i might get a couple more things soon, i'll post pics if i get anything.
but i guess my question was about the shrooms, is there anything they specifically need extra of or something? i really have no clue why they didn't last everything else is fine with the way the water is testing.

What are all of your water params...and include everything that you can test for.

well i don't remember what it was when the shrooms died, and i haven't written the readings down in a while. i'll test and post them up, but i've never seen anythingn extremely out of the ordinary, usually just about the same

Did you notice any bugs of any kind that could have been aggitating them to that degree?
