Okay Everyone - I probably made the mistake with the coral I just purchased but did not realize until it was too late for the LFS to take back. I need some help IDing a piece of coral. I believe it's a red Goniopora coral. All the heads still have no come out, I'm not sure what I need to do to make them happy. Any suggestions on the ID and Maintenance? Also I think my sponge is on its dieing leg. I posted a picture of that as well. I have using the live phytoplankton the store recommended by Dr G's. I do need to do a water change to remove the phosphates. All other water specs are good to go. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your help!!

Well - I moved the coral off the one ledge to the top of it were the flow is better. It seems to be much happier. I posted some pics for everyone to see how pretty it is! Looking for some Zoos now!

although very pretty, alevopora/goniopora have very short lives in tanks.(9 mo. maybe) i actually had one for a year and a half so it can be done. pristine water, good flow and lots of light should make it a very happy addition. in ref to ur sponge- was it exposed to air at any time? BIG NO NO in sponge world. nice lether.

Thanks for the advice!! I have noticed its very tempermental. Seems to be happy right now however I need to do an emergency water change ASAP this weekend. My nitrates are high actually. This is probably why some of the button polys are not opening and the algae is growing on the rocks bright green. The sponge it's self never was exposed to the air once i received it, but from what I hear they are hard to keep, and their life span is not long. I'm going to remove it this weekend when I do that water change. I love my leather!! It's huge and was only $50! I have not seen a healthy leather on any of the LFS in a while. My shrimp love it too! Off to play darts! Thanks again for your
help!

ohhhh! just thought of. do u have any micro bubbles? because sponges cannot expel air once they get it in their system, they just die. also a reason for short survival.

NO Micro Bubbles or stones. I'm taking it out tonight as it's pretty much dead. Doing the waterchange tonight! FINALLY :O)
Also I got another new fish except he's a lil beat up from a bigger foxface picking at his fins. I believe he's a cross between a brown scopas and a sailfin. He's yellow and brown but has small vertical lines. I will take a picture tonight if he survived over the night. He was pretty tramatize after almost being eating alive in my friends tank. Hopefully if hes alive I can get him to eat.

Well I think my nudibranch laid eggs but I'm not sure. Will post a picture for some ID help! The type of nudibranch is Phyllidia varicosa Lamarck.

Thanks for the compliment. I was bad this weekend and bought some new stuff for the tank when I was only suppose to be changing the water. Check out the new frogspawn and clown.

looks great Jenn, if you are going to keep the divers head you should get some green star polyps and put them on top of it, they will spread to form a pretty funky hair do.
