I do like the skimmer. It was definitly a pain to get set up right so the top wouldn't bob under water or suck in too much air but once you get it setup and your water level is right it is pretty helpful.
The rock in the top center, in the back has some corals on it. I'm pretty sure they are clover polyps. The rock was all given to me by somebody with an established tank. There is also a single zoo in the front, but my picture taking skill swith my tank are pretty pathetic right now (anybody have some tips for me???).
I just got a cyano outbreak on the sandbed as well, which apparently means my cycle is starting to wind down. Luckily I don't mind how it looks too much so I'm just gonna wait it out and hopefully once I get my macro algea in the aquaclear it will take care of the cyano's nutrient source.

Looks good so far and good luck.....try a blanket over the tank for a couple of days with the lights out and the cyno should go away :)

if it is a slimy type of cyano then I would get some more water movement across your sand bed.
Tank and rock structure looks great!! 20 gallon tanks are great looking reef tanks!!
