I think even Wallyworld seels battery powered air units where the boating suppkies are, but I don't believe theya re auto when power goes out.

Maybe look at a APC Back Ups. There all over ---- for less then $100 bucks. I use one. Its like a surge protector, but it also has a battery in it. So if you power goes out it will run off the battery. When my power goes out I usually unplug everything except for a power head, just keeps the water flowing. Good luck. By the way you have a nice tank. I have the same 46gal bow front tank too. I love it.
