Or get this wonderful stuff called Marine Clean it is 2 bottles taped together. A marine biologist turned me on to it, and it works wonders, only takes 48 hours.

i like your gorgonian. i am thinking about getting a few of the larger red octo gorgonians to put in the corners of my tank to give the tank more depth.

I got my gorgonians from here SWF.com and it came with 2 for the price of one and they are incredibly easy to take care of, the white polyps are always out. I feed them zooplex about twice a week, they add alot of color.

Would the horseshoe crab walk on top of my brain coral and destroy it?

HA!!! I see mine once every month are two. the only way I know he is alive is by the corn rows in the sand. If I pull him out to show someone he just dig back in. they will knock over any thing under 3 times there own, so be careful in choosing a size

You should get some sort of sand sifting gobie. Theyre geat for circulating the sand and when first introduced to a tank, they'll have it cleaned in a matter of hours.

good point, that would work better than a hc but I think they need a fine sand bed

Your sand looks normal grade...Did you buy justt he regular bagged LS? A goby will do fine with that, i'd go for a gold headed sleeper, blue cheek, or a pink spotted goby...I'll get you some pics

Any other suggestions? My crabs finally noticed there was algea on the sand and they have gotten rid of about 75% of it, and what few snails I have left noticed there was algea on the back glass.
