I'm not trying to be mean...I really want to help:
Your tank is not able to handle a mandarin without a refugium, I don’t know your setup but mandarin require allot of copepods and clear the tank of them in just a month or two, then they starve.. Also it makes no sense to just really be into coral right now..The CUC has a very important job and coral are for beauty, if you get too much algae because you have an inadequate CUC then your coral will be covered over and suffocate and look terrible.
So be smart and prepare before disaster, and up the CUC and really be into coral after your tank is better established.
Damsels are very mean little pretty fish, they grow up and bite you drawing blood. They kill most everything else you have in there with them, including each other.

i definately don't think your being mean, i appreciate any input, i do have 2 turbos, 2 bumble bee snails, 8 nassarius snails, 1sand sifting star, about 5 little crabs so i hope i have enough but have thought about getting more cuc. i have no algae problems, knock on wood! my damsels are 5 yrs old, they are full of personality for sure but haven't killed anything. i also have a 25 gal. refugium with calerpia n chaeto in it n lots of creepy crawlies in it, n believe it or not my mandrin is eating frozen mysis n shrimp, which i couldn't believe it until i seen it! he's beautiful!
