I have a condelactus anemone and had a percula clown but today it dissapeared and I saw orange on my ane. then he regurgetated it! Then the anemone stung my eel but didn't kill it. They've gotten along so-far though. anyone need an anemone? he's free. Can someone tell me if they've had this happen? I know they're not the best anemones but I didn't expect this. Please respond.

I'm going to get another clown but I was thinking about another species, one that can hold its own, anyone have any advice?
Either a sebae,Clarkii, maroon, or maybe more percs if I get rid of that anemone and get another type.

Yes, It was intended for decoration, but what bugs me is I bought them at the same time from a specialty store, and they didn't even mention a possibility of this. I found another specialty store and they aren't in it just for the money so they were kind enough to tell me on the phone the possibility of it when the clown dissapeared. My mom thought my eel ate it but he wasn't big enough. so now I have a regurgitated clown in a bag and an anemone in one of my floating tanks.

Well, I asked the people at the store since they have so many saltwater fish and claim to be "pro's" and they didn't even mention this could happen!

Why not a tomato clown ?? They get big, you have a nice size tank for it as well. :)

Well, I like them and all, but they're the most aggressive of the clowns and might kill other inhabitants

U have an Eel in the tank :D . you have lots of hiding place's for the blenny and gobies as well. Plus i'm not sure if or not it will eat the invert's.

You r right about that, but I want alot of active fish that stay out, and if I had a tomato they wouldn't come out as much :(

Funny you post that..same thing happened to my perc. My perc wasn't doing so well and was weak. weak enough not to be able to swim away from the sticky stinging tenticles.
Bought a maroon three days later. three days after that the maroon took to the condy and they have been together now for over a month... It was fun to watch the maroon build up the immunity.
Was your clown sick? My perc was about an inch long. And my condy has a disc about 4" around and tenticles about 5-6" long. My sick perc didn't have a chance.

Actually my perc was completely healthy, my dad said it looked weird that morning, but he says that every morning. by the way i heard that condys wouldn't host any clown, and ur maroon liked it?

First off, that size tank is WAY too small for that zebra eel, it will get big, and very big. The minimum tank size should be atleast 125 at first IMO. I think you should get rid o' that eel, and get one or two clowns (mates) and you should be fine.

1st of all, the eel was kept in a 20 at the store, 2nd, my eel stays in such small places it doesn't seem to want a bigger one,3rd, when i'm old enough to get a job i will save the money and buy a HUGE tank, 4th, Zebra's aren't that big compared to a normal eel, and 5th, my dad loves that eel so I don't care if I have to buy a 100gal. tank, I'm not getting rid of it!

Again, I'm just trying to help man, understand me. I'm 14, okay? I was exaclt yin your situation, and I know how it feels to now have money for stuff, but hey, your tank your choice ( broomer). If you don't want to play by the rules, don't play the game.
I think I just might quote that.....

Don't worry, I'll hold true to my phrase, if i can't afford a bigger tank I'll give it to someone who will take good care of it. (but i don't think that'll happen because i could always do some work around the house, and maybe suck up to my grandma...) :D :D :D

Don't worry about the tomato's being too aggressive. I have two that spawn every couple weeks. The only time they get aggressive is if another fish enters there territory. After a couple chase aways, the intruders will stay away and everyone should be happy.
