there are no other changes i have seen in the tank or on the anemone. it is a 24 gal tank, two days ago, i messed up and put 2 cups of tap water in with some phytoplankton, i was told that probably wasn't enough to do any harm, but that is the only problem i could think of. Any help is greatly appreciated

Its common happens a lot with BTA's. What type of lighting are you using, although it is twisting (not unusual) it is stretching. That type of behavior is often seen by BTA's that have footed deep in a crevis of LR and are stretching out to get light. Where yours seems to be in the open but yet still stretching upwards. Haitians need a lot of light and enjoy some flow, I hope its reaching for the second of the 2 I mentioned.

Actually..I have those snails as part of my clean up crew, they are the banded trochus snails. They haven't bothered my green zoos.

I talked to the people at my LFS, and they told me that this sometimes happens, as PerfectDark had said. They told me just to reach in and untwist it, and that is what I did, I came home from work today, and it had done the same thing, so I untwisted it again. It appears to be going downhill, and I was just curious how concerned I should be at this point, I am attaching a pic, but can't seem to get one that realy does any justice. The anemone is darker than normal, and very deflated, and as you can see in the pic, the foot is barely even visible. This anemone at full extension is normally at least 5 times the size that it is now. I realize they do shrink up, but in the short time I've had the tank this is nothing I've seen yet. Any help is appreciated.

Here is a good read for you. This happened to the very same type you have and very interesting on the outcome.
In short note the anemone twisted so tight it cut it self off and became free floated and died. BUT the foot remaind footed to the rock... if you want to read more on happened read this http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-03/nftt/index.php
