Yes reef bug is expensive. lol just ask me, I am still trying to regrow my ass after my wife chewed it. lol
But much cheaper to be in the hobby and keep stuff alive than it is to buy fish only to have them die and re- buyy them over and over.
We all have lost fish, for one reason or another, but most of the time it is poor water or poor knowlege that leads to fish loss. Sometimes it is from poor selection.
Word of advice never try to rescue a fish from the LFS as they can afford the loss much better than you can. Unless of course you are ready to take that chance and keep the fish store selling low quality fish. If a fish store looses to many fish they will either stop selling, or figure out how to keep a high quality system.

It should have a bio-wheel on it, I would get one rated for a little bigger than your tank. Marineland makes a good one.

bio-wheels are subject to controversy, I use one, but only one wheel. Someone on here said to use the other side (mine is a 400) to grow macroalgea and it works great. Got chaeto growing on one side to help redude trates.
It has been said that they are TRATE traps and help fuel it. I have not seen it, but I am not opening up this debate. I use one. E.O.S.

Holy crap, your aquarium is GORGEOUS! It puts mine to shame sooo badly... Me and my little Damsel will prevail.

I love my Aqua Clear Filters, I have two of them on my 25 gal and they do a great job.

Thanks. i started mine with the walmart 55 gallon kit for $128 or so that came with the tank, cheapo lights and 1 filter. Thats the hob filter in the 2nd pic. I later added 1 more (they are very inexpensive) and that actually worked wonderfully until my experience and knowledge level grew and I added a sump/refugium rated for a 150 gallon tank which is what I am using now on my 125.
