My Background with glue?

I used clear packaging tape along the entire length on top and sides to avoid that ghetto look and to keep the water from getting in between.

I am about to say screw this plastic background. Vinyl will adhere (used for automotive decals, sign making, etc) and is removable easy enough (razorblade to get it started and then it just peels off, usually with little or no residue). I'm not too sure on price. Since they dont really need to cut it in their machine, it would prolly be pretty cheap. Do you know what i am talking about?

Wet the background and glass with water (not salt) it will stick if they are both clean and cut to the glass size (not frames), like a decal. I don't use a background anymore on my 75 and never did on the 120...

I used very little peel and stick velcro tabs. It works great if want to change the background you can flip it with no hassle.

Its a shame I just started mixing my salt.

Applying it was a lot easier than I thought.
Google "gilafilms". They have instructional how-to videos on their site.
Look under automotive window tint and click on "How To".

NPage... did you just use the tank to mix the salt? I'm not flaming, but I have read a lot about changing my cc to sand and you might be in the same boat as me when you try to add the sand to the tank because it will cloud it up a bit.

Yep. Mixed reef is what im planning.
I actually got the idea from a guy at a lfs that know for overpriced live stock and inept employees. He said he has had his tinted for years and never had a prob with salt creep. The nice thing too is if you change your mind, just peal it off.

I thought about that. I'm going to use a PVC pipe with a flared fitting on top to act as a funnel. That way I can drop the sand right to the bottom of the take without going through the whole water column. I'm also going to rinse the sand before in 5g buckets.
Besides, its taken me soooo long to get this far. I guess I could wait for the clouds to settle.

NPage: yea, hehe, I was anxious with mine at first. 75 gallon. I got all my stuff at cost + 5% i think and all they had left was cc. I bought it and wish I hadn't. Now I have to buy 3x30gallon rubbermaids and syphon all the water out and take out the rocks and life so i can take the cc out without clouding my tank in the shortest amount of time. This process also calls for about 100 lbs of sand and 20 extra gallons of water and should take approximately 3 hours.

I usually use scotch but i tried electric tape and have it going along the top and bottom even the sides. Its holding pretty good.
Its a good idea to cover the top of the background completely otherwise you can get some water back there and a salt creep will be noticable.
