Here is my crocea clam!!

Here is my carnation coral. (impulse buy and I am now aware of it survival rate but I will do my best)

Some green shrooms

Some more shrooms and rics

My clam with my frogspawn. I already had the frogspawn but these are my two favorite!!

The clam is on the sand while it attaches it's self to a rock that is under him then up top he goes. These are under the Tx5!!

Very Very nice....
About the Carnation, talk to Johnthefishguy... I had one that I too bought on an impulse and after reading about them realized that it would most likley perish.
After it died a few weeks later it came up as a topic on here. He stepped in and commented on how he has seen some do well in aquariums and there were a few guidlines to follow that made its survival rate increase. I forget what they were, Im pretty positive one was to keep it out of the light. Even though they are nonphotosynthetic in this case light actually affects them adversly. But he knows the rest... Good luck with it.

nice pics. one thing though - even if it attaches to the rock while on the sand, once you move the rock/clam up to higher ground, it still may detach and move/fall off if it doesn't like the spot you move it to. you might want to go ahead and move it if it still hasn't attached it's thread or foot yet, but it probably already has at least attached the thread. I placed my croceas in spots that the rock made a bowl type aread for the clam to rest in - nice and close to the light. they love their spots now.

so if a clam attaches it can still be moved and it reattached. I mean if I put him somewhere and re-aquascape I can physically remove it and put it somewhere else pretty easy of is that not recomended?

the clam itself may move small amounts and reattach somewhere else if it's not happy where it's at. But once a clam has firmly attached to a spot, it is usually best to leave it there if you're able. I've read that if I want to move a clam it is actually best to pull it back a little and cut the thread instead of pulling it off and causing a rip somewhere. I've also heard of others breaking off the rock where it's attached. Overall though, I've found that once it's found a nice home that it likes, it's usually best to keep it there.

beautiful specimen though - I just wish that they looks as pretty from the front of the DT as they do taking photos from above.

Yeah your telling me!!!! it is crazy the color variation from head on to top view. I might try to angle mine forwad a bit just to make the color pop. By the way, how would you know if one is not getting enough light? Would they lose color?

Ok, guys, here's a Newb question...
on his green shrooms, what's the red stuff on the lower left side? I have a little patch of that on one of my rocks, and have been curious about it.

Red coraline algae.
Thx! I thought it looked like coraline, but mine kind of sits on the rock more like an attached leaf, rather than "painted" on like usual. Great pics and presents, dude!!
