My Brain is deflated.

So this morning when I turned the lights on my Wellso Brain coral looked kind of strange. I guess the best way to describe it is that it looked kind of deflated. I fed it and the tentacles came out to eat the food so I wasn't too worried.
Now that its night time and I've had the lights off for a few hours, I decided see if the Brain became smooth with the tentacles out (as it has been all week) but instead it looked even more shriveled like a raisen.
Anyway, should I be worried or is this just something Brains do from time to time?

It may just be digesting/expelling what you've been feeding it. If that's the case, you'll se it 'poop' soon and probably look better than ever afterward...

When you are talking about brain coral...you should always add the coral part to the sentence. I laugh everytime someone posts that there is something wrong with their brain.

Have you been feeding it daily?
Hmm... well I feed the tank brine or mysis daily and rotifiers/zooplankton every 2 or 3 days... but whenever I do feed the tank I made sure to squirt a little bit of the brine or mysis a bit over the Brain.
So you guys are thinking its just been digesting/pooping the food I've been feeding it for the past week since I got it? For the record, its the next morning and its still all wrinkled up... maybe it just needs a newspaper and some time alone? lol.

Yeah, I think it's probably stuffed. I only feed my wellso once, maybe two times a week. Check your parameters, just to be safe, mine shrivels if the alkalinity isn't stable.

Hmm... well I did do a water change a couple of days ago, followed by some B-Ionic Calcium/Alkalinity buffer. Would it be possible that the WC caused the Alk to go down and then the buffer caused it to go up and that is annoying to the Brain coral?
I have a feeling that the feeding is more likely the problem... I'm going to go a few days without putting any coral food in the tank and see how it goes.

why would u do a w/c and than dose for alk/cal? Test ur water after uve added the salt and let a pump mix it and airate it for 24hrs...if needed add the chemical to the water before adding the water to the DT...really though ur salt should contain decent enough levels to keep your DT parameters good....unless u have a lot of cal/mag/alk demanding coral that suck it up...than ull need to start dosing accordingly!

1GuyDude I get my saltwater from the store. I live in a fairly crowded house and keeping a big bucket of water and salt mixing for 24 hours is not feasable where I live atm.
I usually only dose the tank once every few weeks or when the calcium reads a little low for my liking... it just so happened that the timing of my semi-regular dosing was a couple of days after I did a water change.

Anywho I just got home and the Brain is looking a bit better... so it was probably just eating too much... I'll update y'all if anything changes :)
