My Bulkheaded Tank Plan

My plan is to put a Marine Pro 100 Skimmer and Mag 5 return. In the back over flow. There will be a 12-inch drop from top of over flow to water service in back chamber.

A baffle in the main tank that you overflow water into, cycle through and then pump back up no sump.
I was thinking of a bulkhead to go out into a closed loop for my chiller and auto top off. For now this will be my DT, in years to come I will use this as a show refugium. With a 60gal cube on top.
The baffle will be blacked so you can’t see the return

Hopefully the comment was just to draw in responses? Obviously a 27'ish gallon tank (24"L x 19"H x 13.5"D) is not appropriate for a Niger of really any size...
One thing, you'll have to add a baffle into the back to keep the water level height constant with the skimmer, or you'll never get the skimmer adjusted correctly. Which, would eat into the return gallonage. I have no idea on your skimmer dimensions, so figuring just dividing the baffle area in half, that's only 4 gallons per side (12"x11.25"x6.5").

The skimmer is say 6x4 and do you think it needs a bubble trap or just a tall baffle to separate the return from the skimmer?

To maximize space, I would just do a baffle, and just rig up some extra acrylic over the pump intake, so it diffuses the splash and draws water only from the bottom.
