hi i have had my burr puffer for about 2 months now. he started out eating good, and had a lot of personality. then all of the sudden he stopped eatting and he just sits at the bottom of the tank. my ph level is at 8.2 ,and my water is clean, the salinity is at 1.024. so everything is good. the only thing i can think of is, we had a basketball game at butler, and we were gone for about a week. my friend said he would take care of him, but i think he might have over feed him or let the tank get to dirty. its been about a week since the last time he ate. i have been feeding him freeze dry krill. should i try something different?. he looks like hes getting really weak, please let me know what i should do i dont want him to die. thank you

You can try throwing some fresh, unshelled, shrimp in there to see if he goes for it. Also you can try fresh clams or mussels to try and entice him to eat.

Fresh is a good idea, you might also be able to soak your krill in garlic, as I believe alone they hold little nutritional value. They also sell vitamines that you can soak foods in so that might be a good choice as well.

if alls you've been feeding him is freeze dried krill then that could be a problem. if you don't give him a variety of foods you could have made his liver fatty which can kill them. happens to lion fish all the time.

Well what is it, if you friend overfed, then the rotting food would have caused an ammonia spike and then the water quality wouldn't be good. Might be something to check because puffers can be finicky. And that would cause him not to eat. Second, puffers need a varied diet of food not just krill. Try some fresh shrimp, crab, fish, and oysters or clams. This may help him eat as well, but you need to verify your water quality first.
