I put a false perc. clown in my nano and he is just swimming in one of the corners. He is jsut facing out swimming up and down against the tank wall.
What is he doing
Acclimating to his new environment. This is how clowns generally react to a new environment. Even after becoming comfortable with their environment they will not move much other than to feed.
Yeah, its a comfort thing.
I've had a pair for 6 months now and they still head to the top back of the tank when the lights are out.
They also refuse to visit the right side of a 12 gallon tank, meaning they probably only use ~7 gallons.
I've had two clowns for about 5 years now and they don't use the entire tank either. Usually they are in the upper left side of the tank swimming next to my spray bar which they have adopted as their anemone. Sometimes they will go to the middle of the tank and wait for feeding time. Then they go back up into their corner when they are done.
My clowns swim my whole 29gal bio-cube--they come up and feed right out of my eye dropper--but at night with just moon lights--they stay huddled in the upper front cornor
I watched my buddys perc. clown and it used every bit of that big old tank it was in... 75+ gallons. there were other fish as well....
From what I have seen... they more aorund as a pair and use most of the tank
I have two clarkii's (a mated pair). I have had them both for about 3 months. The larger one hosts the anemone and doesn't leave to far from it, the smaller one hosts the spray bar in the top left corner of my 72 gallon tank and he doesn't venture anywhere near the other side of the tank!! When people come over they always think the smaller one is dead because he sits on top of the spray bar near the water line!! Whatever, I just let them do their thing
