My clownfish is always swimming down towards the sand. Is he suppose to do this? The only time he swims normal is if I tap the glass and that's only for a second! :help:

Its nesting, Mine do the same thing in my 10g nano. As long as it seems healthy and is breathing fine, no worries. They tend to do this if you have very fine sand. Get them an anenome they will go right into it instead of the sand.

He looks happy and is breathing fine. I got him 2 days ago. He shows no signs of any sort of wanting to eat. My other clown shows no signs of unusual behavior as this one does.

Pretty much a place to sleep. Next time the lights go out check where he usually goes down to the sand, he will most likely be sleeping in that spot. The pair in my 10g nano practically sleep on each other on their sides in the sand where they dig up.

I have 2 pairs of clowns. A pair in my 65g and a pair in my 10g. I came to find that they live up to their name. Both pairs have unusual behavior, but its normal for them. The nesting behavior is very normal and you will have nothing to worry about. Enjoy their activeness now also because once they have become older and acustomed to the tank they will pretty much find one spot in their tank which they will claim as their own and stay in that area all day. While my new pair in my 10g remain actively swimming around. My pair in my 65 who are about one year old stay in the same spot all the time, until its feeding time.

How do I get mine to eat? Or is he eating things in the tank when I am not feeded him? He shows no signs of wanting to eat, because he never comes to the surface!

they should start eating fairly soon. I got a pair of clowns about two weeks ago and for the first two or three days they didn't show much interest in food. After the first two or three days they started eating some, now they eat like pigs when it is feeding time.

Yeah i would give them a few days. They need to get comfortable with the tank first.
