I don't how to go about searching for a new pump..I can find the overflow box but not the pump alone...also is there another brand or better lifter pump out there? This thing lasted a little over two months and now won't do anything..it acts like its burned up.

Is there any suction at all? If so, maybe get some really hot water and have it cycle that hot water through it to try and clean the insides. When I clean the water lines, I also run it for ~5 minutes in the kitchen sink with the lines into a bowl of really hot tap water.
The "Toms Aqua-Lifter" pump is a very common pump and should be able to be found at most LFS. For the time being, a single piece of airline on the top of the CPR placed below the waterline on the back should keep the syphion going once you get it started. Even if air gets into the line, it should just bubble out the back.

Thank you so much for the quick reply...Alright I found the pump...If does no last any longer than this, I want another better brand. I don't understand the area marked in red.
I don't know how a lifter pump works but it does not get submerged ..are you saying to place the tubes in hot water?
I replaced the tubes with new lines and I get zip out ofthe pump it hardly vibrates.
This is on the seahorse tank, the pumps gets shut down 2Xs a day to feed the horses, so manual syphoning is not an option. I have a canister filter on the tank for now and a bubble tube running to the refugium to keep it circulated until I can figure out how to fix or replace the pump.

Yeah, maybe it got something stuck in it, Flower. Maybe insert a coat hanger or something into the holes to see if anything is jammed in there. I got my aqua lifter by itself online at the depot.

I put it in hot water it pushes out air fine..Lots of vibration and bubbles...but when I reattach it the water does not flow in the overflow fast enough and the water comes to the rim of the tank...and shut I down for fear of a flood.

Sounds like a line is pinched or has something trapped in it. Check the lines going in and out of the lifter pump.
good news is that the pump is working, just not performing.

You guys are the greatest...I got it working again. I used a big paper clip and then blew real hard into tube where the nub goes to the overflow itself. I was looking at this prefilter thingy on that site you mentioned...Do you think something like this would help? It doesn't cost much just $2.99
Pre-filter for Aqua Lifter—Dosing Pump. Filters out large particles in water before entering Aqua Lifter.

LOL...The lifter tube is sending tiny little bubbles, very much like my feeding tube does before the mysis comes out...I have the one I named M&M hanging upside down over the tube looking for food. She is so sure food will be there soon, and she isn't giving up. They always go hunting for what was wasted after feeding time and when the pump goes back on they float and they chase it down and eat some more. I'm almost tempted to feed them more but one cube should be able to satisfy 4 little horses. I don't want to pollute the tank. Their little bellys are big and I make sure each one gets food 2Xs each day.

The filter is worth a try. The aqua lifter is just a dosing pump so if you ever want to shop around for other pumps I would search those. Aqua Medic makes a descent one but it'll run you a little over a $100. Tunze also makes one, I believe.
If worse comes to worse and the pump does give out you can always manually remove the air in the overflow and then submerge the airline tube under water as Monsi sugguested. That will at least keep it air tight for the time being.
Or if you have one of these handy dandy cheapy powerheads from ***** laying around you can attach the airline tube from the overflow to it and it will essentially do the same thing and pull air out of the overflow....

Thanks...That's good to know...I'm aware of the little nub on a regular pump but I can't see the underside of your picture to make out how a tube attaches there.. I use the cheap one from ***** for my water change pump, knowng I can use it in a pinch grants me some peace of mind.

That's all that is in the picture is my water change/mixing pump. The other end of the tube isn't connected to anything, it's just for aerating the water when it's mixing. But in the event of an emergancy you can put the powerhead in your tank and just connect a single hose from the top of the overflow to the output on the powerhead. The output from the powerhead creats suction on the airline tube and once it's hooked up to your overflow then it will essentially pull air bubbles out of it for you just as the aqua lifter would.

Okay...do I attach the other end tube to the nub on top of the overflow box?
Sorry but my ignorance on the way such things work is against me here.

Not to chime in late, But I have a CPR overflow box and I don't use a lifter pump at all....... What does the lifter pump do? The only pump I have is in the sump for the return flow.....
