My CPR skimmer fills the tank w mico bubbles!! HELP :)

Hi..
I installed a hang on CPR skimmer and it seems to fill my tank with little bubbles. If I turn down the air too much it doesnt work at all... but with it up a little my tank fills.... anyone have a suggestion to help out a reefer in need??
Thanks!

WELL, I suppose you get what you pay for!
Personally, I think the bak pak is a piece of garbage! LOOK AT IT!! such a crappy design. my advice is to get a garbage can and throw that thing away!! there you go! no more air bubbles!! ;) :D

Well throwing it away is an option but if you want to keep it go to www.cprusa.com and they will help you with the bubble problem. Though you will never get rid of all the bubbles as these things are bubble machines and I know from personal experience as I have one. they are a pretty efficient skimmer for a HOB style as I have no complaints about the job they do skimming. Do yourself a favor and toss out the biobale as it will cause you nitrate problems in the future.

Real nice advise LORDOFTHEREEF
Geeeeze :(
Have you added any additives to your tank lately. This I found can cause some problems.
As Hondo mentioned - try the troubleshooting tips found on the link below. I ran a Bak-PakII for several months as a HOB unit, and it did take a little time to get it just right. Run through the tips if you want to, and I wish you luck.
See ya ;)

Mines been running for over a year and very few problems....a couple of things to try....turn the valve all the way closed...open a little at a time until mix is right & just before bubbles return to the display....is it a bacpac or a bacpac2r......if bacpac remove the bio-bale.......either use the sponge in the return....also try the cpr web site( they do have attachments to surface skim and to prohibit bubbles returning to the display)(I don't use either but they are available....they are very good about helping with problems.....the only problems I've had with mine were
o-ring busted and they replaced it free of charge
had problems with calcium build up causing it to stop working...they advised procedures to keep it going.....
Dispite the comments above ...I find this product to be above average in performance and it comes with outstanding product support.......mine is working just fine and has been for an extended period of time................

hey! sorry for the harsh advice!! i just think that for the price of the bak pak, that there are better options out there! PLEASE!! don't take anything that I posted personally! ;)
