I haven't mounted the lights yet. I'm going to attach 2-1x1 beams all the way across to mount the lights on. I'm going to spray paint the insides with white epoxy paint. :happyfish

I have that same kind of paneling over the backside of my island cabinets facing my dining room

No the front do not come off. Yes it made it hard to access the tank, but I can always feed through the back. If I need to, I can take the canopy off during cleaning and stuff. That way, no splashing on anything. :happyfish
