My DME is home sweet home

Received my DME yesterday and put him through a 2hr drip and then floated him and now he's safe and sound and quiet active explorering his new home.
He was bought as a Japanese but after seeing him in person I'm 100% that he is a Hawaiian..still gourgous. I'm giving him a day or so before I offer food.
Enjoy the pics. He's about 30" and fat as can be.

This is without a doubt the coolest pic I have seen in a long time.

Is that Aiptasia to the left of him?

Unfortunatley. I'm trying to find some peppermint shrimp, but none of my local shops has any. I considered "Renting" a Copperbanded but I'm not sure.
The shop that had him said they had a Kleins BF in with him for a while to take care of Aiptasia and he didn't bother it.
I currently have 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 CB shrimp, and 1 Damsel in with him and he ignores them.

Awesome pic ! What size tank is he going in-?
He has a 75g all to himself. We'll see if that will work. Hope so or I'll have to sell my other eels and move him to the 240g.

Harley - he is absolutely stunning! I think that the 75 will do for some time. I agree with you about being a Hawaiian. The Japanese are more red on the body.
I prefer the Hawaiian anyway...congrats on the purchase.

I'm at a loss for words for this guy. Quite an investment but I think you are doing it right giving him his own tank. More pics please...

Ate 2 shrimp tonight. He is very active and a much more "out and about" eel than any of the 3 I have owned so far.
So far he's fantastic. Myerst22 keep us posted on yours can't wait to see him.

Very nice Harley!! Is the chromis in there for a midnight snack?
I am glad to hear that he is feeling comfortable in his new environment.

Damsel was a trial as was the 2 cleaner shrimp and 1 coral banded shrimp in with him but so far he has not even looked at them twice. He only comes up to me and begs for shrimp.
I don't think I have had any SW fish aclimate and settle as fast as this guy. He acts like he's right at home and has known me for a long time. I guess him living at the shop that had him for a year or more really helped out.
