my eel obsession

well its my first permanent purchase for my 70 since my spike, i bought a banded snake eel today from my lfs. im gonna wait a couple of weeks and maybe add something else. ill get pix up asap. hes so cool

That's awesome...this is your first tank right? Good luck with your eel, what other fish do you plan on having?

well it was my first tank, ive had some fish go thru it, lions, tangs butterflys, but my favs have been my 2 SFEs, in the future i plan on getting another lion and maybe a diff type of eel. i laugh becuz a LFS about an our away said that a fimby eel would be a great addition, i just laughed and when he asked i just said that fimbys r like triggers except worse. both my LFSs have lists miles long of fish i look for and i will tell them when im at my limit. my lfs has an angler ive kinda been lookin at so maybe that..

hmm i dont see what ur getting at,anglers ive looked at r exspensive but not this one, im not quite sure what ur getting at

they need species only in many cases because of their diet. This is just what i was told when i asked about keeping one

yup...i saw a picture on here somewhere of one having a 6in powder blue tang sticking out of its mouth. They can fit things in their mouth 4 times their size or something crazy like that.

4 times their size?!?! Is that physically possible? haha. I think you ment they can swallow things as big as they are. Angler would probably do good with eels, mabe one of the more passive lions like an antennata, but anything more aggressive and feeding will be too difficult.

well they can fit their mouth around stuff 4times their size. THats what I read somewhere on here, I'll look and try to put the link of the thread.
