wow... I would guess you would be the type of person that wants to get a kid from someone else just to see if you can somehow learn to take care of it... but if it dies o well who cares it wasnt yours... right? so when it gets tough you just give it away or give it back? thats not right at all, your killing a living creature.... just very very very wrong.
Wow comparing an anemone to a kid... really? Grow the ---- up...
I'm not condoning the "experiment", but it's his money, if he wants to waste it, thats up to him...

ok if you must turn this into a flame war.. than thats what it can be. experimenting on something that is living is simply just wrong. coral, fish whatever it may be its wrong. you saying its his money I dont care just shows how immature you are that you have to make a little comment like that. you dont like what I have to say? then add me to your ignore list and get over it.
everyone else gets to say what they want then when I speak my mind someone jumps all over me for it? your the one that needs to grow the F*** up! its the internet there will be tons of people that you dont agree with!

So the experiment is testing whether or not you can keep the anemone alive? I admit I've put anemones into almost brand new tanks and did fine, but you can hardly call this a viable experiment if you're serious.
+1
Experiments done for the benefit of science, or for helping the species overcome adversity in some way, is one thing. And something I can agree too. However, to throw every bit of advice out the window just to prove to yourself or anyone else that it can be done and kudos for an "I told ya so" is plain foolish. However this is just MO. As stated its your money... for the anemones sake I hope things work out.

Wait a minute.....
Is this irresponsible as collecting sand on a local beach and an anemone from the Pacific ocean and keeping it in your "reef" tank like a poster here did???
Some of you guys kill me.

If the clowns aren't wild it takes them a while to figure out what an anemone is and that they can live in them...
that being said, i tend to agree with the rest that you should try to provide your livestock with an environment where they could thrive for as long as you have them.... if you got bore this quick with an anemone (swaying, elegant, moving creature) it may take you the trip from your LFS to the acclimation bucket for you to get bore of the clam, that is if you acclimate.
A damsels only tank may suit you best! they come in all colors and chase the heck out of each other all day long, they kill the weak (so that will satisfy your need of seeing if its going to make it) and they are cheap so when they die it only $6 bucks.
