Keonia, yes the MH pendants are great for the hex design. Let us know what you choose.
Ctgretzky, I forgot to mention I dig your your rock placement! :jumping:

P.S. I had a pink skunk clown jump out of the tank during the night. Don't know how he got out because I'm using a egg crate.
Thanks for your kind words! It is looking a bit better all of the time, and I finally hvae incredible coraline growth everywhere since Bang helped me with the alk-calc-ph relaionship. All parameters are incredibly stable now.
I like the filtration set up so far. Had a problem with trates and phosphates, (canister and wet dry of course!) but the cheato seems to be lowering that little by little, and I am doing a little more of a frequent water change. BOth trates and phates are minimal now.
And I now have cleaning both canister and wet/dry down to a science, and it only takes about 30 min to clean both.
I will be getting some more coral soon. I didnt want to spend the $ because I have 2 birthdays (I have 2 daughters) so that is two bday parties, plus our annual pool party and bbq is coming up-and with about 60 people coming it gets expensive!
Plus I just havent had time to spend on the tank with summer here, and you know-cutting the gras and all of the other jobs and preparing for parties and eerything else takes front seat righ now.

Very nice corals!!!!
Thanks! I am no where near reeferman's tank yet, but I will catch up by winter hehe!
I will always use pendant lighting I think. IT allows a good area between light and water with nothing to keep the heat in, which is important for me since we are "open window" type people. I just dont like air conditioning unless it is like super hot!
A simple fan over the water has kept tank around 80-81 even on the days we have had 90+ weather for days at a time.
Have fun!

Thanks Reefer! Im sure you know what a pain it is in a hex! lol...I used some of that marineland putty for some spots since it had to be stacked so high, and I have a couple of HUGE zebra hermits and other creatures that like to knock stuff over.
I wil be adding a lot more rock over time, since I always pick coral attached to a nice chunk when I go. I still got 2 tubes of the putty left :)
I need to learn to take better pics...seems I am always rushed for time when I end up doing it, so I dont get to experiment. I wil take some time the next run.
Keep in touch, I love seeing hex tanks, and yours is awesome

For whoever was looking for a light, heres a good suggestion Aqualight Pro HQI/Compact Fluorescent/Lunar Light Fixture 280 watts for the (24" and 36") and it has the highest light output from a single combination fixture. take a look at it
