Wahooooo,
I have a hundred questions for you and I want the FULL play by play when your done. Dont try to play it like a video game or some cheesy movie where your trading spectacular power punches. You will see how controlled and smooth everything should go once your actually in the ring.
When everything goes into slow motion and its just you in the ring... (This method is quickly out lived once you go out of youth and collegate boxing as its a horrible habit and they try to break you from doing it) but.......... Screw trying to watch your opponants eyes or ect like your some zen master with years of training. That will come with time. You just want an edge.. Assuming you both are equally matched in exp then play on it for your first few fights,
Watch his shoulders, most new boxers either wind up for thier punches because thats what they think they "should do" but when you see a shoulder start to move back? instantly jab a quick straight. Even if you dont land you get the points and it screws the opponant up because hes expecting it to be like the movies where he can just wind up and use some corriagraphed routine on you like your going to stand there like his punching bag that he has been practicing on.
Do not think of this like he is your enemy, or phsyke yourself like you need to get some deep hatred from your belly and unleash it on the guy.
Treat it just like a game. Exactly like a game of move and counter move in science of boxing. Enjoy yourself and show good sportsmanship win or lose. Just flat out, outbox him and you will be hooked on the ring.
oh yeah, dont forget to stomp on the guy like a wet bag of groceries for me.
Oh you have to get some pics of you in your little headgear and gloves to share with us. Baby pictures.
Good luck and have fun and show heart
