Im pretty bummed, came home today and found Alfafla (firefish) on the floor.
without a cover, what can I do to avoid this?

Some people put egg crate over the to of their tanks.

Sorry.
Many gobies ect. are lost that way. They get spooked and jump. As Laddy said, eggcrate will help.
