I just toss a cube in..it melts apart and flys all over the place in a minute or two...my brittle star can smell the stuff the minute it hits the water though...he stretches his arms out and snags a buffet..

I thaw mine out with Garlic and tank water. Man does that smell bad! My wife loves it when I soak the Nori in garlic in the fridge over night!!! You can smell it the second you open up the fridge!!

I thaw it in a cup with some tank water and slowly pour it in. I never liked just dumping it all in at once

I use cubes of frozen brine shrimp with added vitamins. I figured that the water it was frozen in also has vitamins, so I just swish the cube around in the tank until half gone and save the other half for the next feeding.:jumping: :jumping:

I just thaw it in a small cup with tank water, and pour it in a little at a time. No straining, nothing special, but I'm kind of a newbie so don't know if it's right or wrong. Do know that fish go nuts when they see the cup though!

Man, my poor fish are mistreated . . . I rub the frozen food between my fingers (in the tank) and it all falls apart . . . all my fish eat out of my hand. Does this make me a bad mom? (Fish mom of course)

I would say not as long as you just didn't change the oil or use bleach or something...one never knows what chemicals are on our hands.

unless you throw a baseball size of frozen food in your tank the food will thaw within a minute so why would it matter if it was thawed or not. I prefer to drop a frozen cube of my own fish food so my fish can pick at the cube and get most of the food before it is blown all around the tank. I think that it waste less food being frozen.
