Well I wanted to Buy the NanoWave, But Iam stationed in Korea for two years so I bought a Korean/Chinese version of the Orca 450 it is called the Boyu TL-450. I have done a little research and these two tanks are exactly the same except maybe the boyu has a better skimmer. Anyways I have seen that these tanks are very popular to mod. So I have a few questions
- Is this tank worth a crap even if I do not mod it?
- all I want are two clown fish and some decent corals will the stock setup be ok?
- Also It is difficult to buy chemicals and test kits over here because the korean fish stores seem to be no more than a garage most of the time ha-ha
So I do not trust what I am buying.
- I need to Order from saltwaterfish or wherever you suggest all the water testing supplies and in case the water is bad and I need medication or water treatment supplies.
- what test kits and treatment kits will cover everything I will need for a tank of this extent
Thats All I have For Now I Hope to Hear from ya!! =)

sounds like u got a good plan, on the ordering from a site, swf.com is a good one, but, id ask them down in the ask swf.com about them shipping overseas to a military base, thats gonna be the hard, getting things shipped to you. and if you have a way to do it, id suggest getting your hands on a rodi unit. alos, what kinda lights do you have on your tank as it is now?

SWF will ship to a PO Box overseas as far as Iam aware but they will not ship livestock (wich is perfectly understandable haha). What is a rodi unit? Reverse Osmosis?
Here is a little about my tank if you do not already know--
--- Name :Boyu TL-450 ( Also same as Orca TL-450)
--- Size :13 gallons
--- Lighting :2 x 18w blue actinic/daylights and 2 led moonlights
--- 4 Compartments in order from left to right from the front of the tank
Compartment 1--- a power head that pumps 750l/h going back into the tank, also 2 bags of ceramic things.
Compartment 2--- heater and Bio balls
Compartment 3--- Protien skimmer
COmpartment 4--- Powerhead at bottom with ( whats supposed to be) UV light, on top of power head it has a sponge looking filter thign with an air hose that goes to the outside of tank.
I am a little confused on how this whole compartment thing works as a filteration unit. My only other saltwater tank was a 10g rectangle nano with a filter that hung off the edge of tank and it worked fine.
-- I will get Pics up of the basic empty tank tonight when i get off work.
meanwhile let me know what you guys think =)
thanks!

yes, a rodi unit is a reverse osmosis unit, sounds like you got a pretty good tank, u might have to upgrade the lighting, but thats a question for someone else to answer, and as to the filtration on the back of the tnak, what a lot of people do on here in the nano section is rip all that stuff out and turn it into a fuge set up, its a much more efficient filtration system. i plan on using 2x aqua clear 110 HOB powerfilters on my 20 long, but, im gonna rip all the guts outta them, and put some live rock an some chaeto in em an turn em into fuges.

Hmmm.. I did some more research on the lighting it seems It is good for what I want. People say it is ok for soft corals I think meaning I can do anenome and some polyps and some shrooms.
For the Refugium set up how do I do is it easy or do i need to purchase anything? I have heard of people taking the ceramic and bioballs and that foam thing and putting live rock in there, but what difference would that make when there is liverock already in the tank?
--- I am ordering my live sand probably tonight and will have in the next couple days. I do not want to get liverock yet until i get my master test kit.
--- what is the process should I put sand and water and wait a week then add live rock and wait a couple weeks for cycle or should I do liverock and sand together and cycle for a couple weeks?
--- what is a good master test kit that will cover almost everything that comes up?
--- are there any medication kits that i can order in case of emergencies? It would be very difficult to get medicine from a korean store if an emergency comes up. So I want to have it on stock/standby at my home just in case ha-ha
Thanks for the help so far =) I am already kind of getting addicted to trolling the fish forums !

sorry to break the news to you but im 99.9% sure an anemone wont work in that tank because of the lights : /
now if you wanted one so clownfish would host it you can always try a frogspawn

AHA! SO,
I took the train to Seoul today and bought some nice looking Live rock and live sand to finally begin my tank cycle. I got ripped off Big time but it was the only decent place to buy rock so oh well the korean man will eat good tonight.
The live rock has got alot of good purple color But It seems to have some what looks to be like Ivy of some sort of long weed growing on it. Should I pull it off or what? I will get some pics soon.
until then what do you think it is? It almost looks like a plant more than a algae. Kinda growing like ivy would or a weed.
I just found a black/greyish colored ( kinda looks like a rock color) crab also that came with the live rock. I will get pictures of him too tomorrow . what could he be?
I also Did some upgrades to my tank as some of you have mentioned. I upgraded both pumps in my tank.
They used to be pumping 197gph.. water movement and power was garbage
so I replace both the intake and outbound pump with maxijet 1200 that push 230 GPH and it is working pretty nicely. I do not even need to get anything for water current because the outbound pump is pretty intense.
I will get some pics up tomorrow of everything when I start Aquascaping.
If u can please help me what I should do with these green plants
